AVHGA, the Hungarian Rural Credit Guarantee Foundation (along with AECM) hosted an international conference on 3rd and 4th of October 2013 in Budapest, Hungary.
The event was titled Guarantee Models in Europe – Focus on opportunities in CEI countries, and it was supported by the Central European Initiative (CEI).
The aim of the conference was to exchange experience, spread best practices among guarantee institutions all over Europe and to involve non-EU member Central European states (even without relevant guarantee systems) to learn about successful guarantee schemes in the European Union. Most of the speakers presented different types of successful operational models of AECM member guarantee organisations. The forum also provided a good opportunity to discuss the difficulties and potential solutions in the credit default guarantee sector among each other.
In our point of view the conference was successful, since altogether 78 participants represented themselves – out of which 43 participants came from 17 foreign countries and 3 international organisations (EU Commission, European Investment Fund and AECM), and 35 domestic participants from Hungarian banks and guarantee institutions.
